Student Growth
Throughout my growth as a teacher, I have worked diligently to become an agent for change and a facilitator for student growth. In my classes, I have planned lessons that go beyond teaching Spanish grammar and vocabulary. I have provided Access to my students, exposing them "to people, programs, resources, and connections that can open doors for them" (Johns Hopkins, n.d.). My classroom has helped foster important and positive Habits and Mindsets that prepare students for life after high school. As a Spanish teacher, I have the ability to cover historical, cultural and current events that impact people within and outside of my students' community and then have students Advocate for themselves and others. Through planning, assessments, instructional strategies and by providing students access, teaching them positive habits and mindsets and to advocate for themselves and others, I continually work with my students to achieve Dramatic Academic Growth.
